Grounding Exercise

When you are working with energy, it is of vital importance that you know how to ground yourself. This goes for meditations, spiritual healings and just mixing with energies when you are at the mall. If you are channelling healing energy, you can feel very whoozy or "spacey" if you do not ground yourself beforehand.

Follow this simple visualization exercise:

  • Visualize roots growing out from your feet and extending down through the floor and travelling all the way down to the centre of the earth, where you will anchor them.

That's it. Simple.

If you wish to centre yourself at the same time:

  • Visualize tiny filiments coming out of the top of your head which stretch and travel out to the sun and the moon and the stars. Anchor them.
  • Pretend you are a straw, and suck up the energy from Mother Earth.
  • At the same time, draw the cosmic energy down through the top of your head and feel the two energies blending.

You should now be grounded and centred.
