M > Meditation What is MeditationBy: Elaine Murray Meditation is the art of listening, while in an altered state of consciousness. It is an inward journey. Our brain waves slow down to an alpha or theta state measurable by an electroencephalograph. The whole concept of meditation is directed towards developing the use of more of the mind. To this end, we must discover and operate the subjective or inner aspects of our minds. The deeper dimensions of our minds contain all the tools and equipment we need to function at the inner levels of awareness. By going within, we come in contact with that spark of the Divine, our higher selves. If we learn to listen to our higher selves and all the higher guides and teachers we shall live an abundant, harmonious life. See also: How to Meditate See related articles: Other Sections: |
