Aura Layer 3: The Mental Body

This body extends beyond the emotional body and is composed of still finer substances, all of which are associated with thoughts and mental processes.

The mental body usually appears as a bright yellow light radiating about the head and shoulders and extending around the whole body. It extends from 3 to 8 inches from the body. It expands and becomes brighter when its owner is concentrating on mental processes.

The mental body is structured. Thought forms appear as blobs of varying bright mass and forms. These thought forms can have additional colours superimposed on them emanating from the emotional body. Habitual thoughts become very powerful "well-formed" forces that can affect our lives.

Barbara Ann Brennan suggests that when healing, the three lower auric layers are associated with and metabolize energies related to the spiritual world. The fourth layer (astral level) is associated with the heart chakra. All spiritual energy must pass through the heart chakra to be transformed into the lower physical energies.
